Bishop Donald Kettler of St. Cloud released the following statement in response to the Ferguson, Mo., grand jury’s decision Nov. 24 to not indict police officer Darren Wilson
“I was saddened to see the television images of violent actions perpetrated by some people in the wake of the grand jury’s decision. Violence is never the answer. I ask the faithful of the Diocese of St. Cloud, and all people of good will, to join me in praying for peace in Ferguson and the surrounding community. We also pray for the local Church there and its leaders, including Archbishop Robert Carlson, that they may be instruments of peace, unity and reconciliation in the days and weeks ahead.”
