Synod Series 3: “What Things?” The Sacred Act of Listening
Just as Jesus listened to the disciples on the way to Emmaus, the Church is called to listen to youth and young adults. Throughout the Synod process, church leaders heard from young people and sought to respond to them. What does “listening” mean in our local communities? This session will explore strategies for listening with compassion and for offering hope. The presenters for this session feature Roy Petitfils, Ansel Augustine, Chika Anyanwu, and Gabriela Karaszewski Moderated by Darius Villalobos This is the third of a four-part series entitled Synodality: Unpacking the Universal Church’s Recent Work on “Young People, the Faith, and Vocational Discernment”. The series is hosted by the National Federation for Catholic Youth Ministry (NFCYM), the Southeast Pastoral Institute for Hispanic/Latino Ministry (SEPI), the Catholic Apostolate Center (CAC), in collaboration with the USCCB Secretariat of Laity, Marriage, Family Life and Youth.
