DECEMBER 2025

DECEMBER 6 & 7—2nd SUNDAY OF ADVENT

All Things New: Honoring the past, inspiring the future.

Change

For the ongoing All Things New planning process, this month, we reflect upon change.

Change is an essential part of the Christian journey. Change is not merely an ending — it is the beginning of something greater. The faithful are invited to trust in God’s plan and welcome renewal with faith. We welcome the unfolding of God’s promises, trusting that we are being led toward a future full of grace.

As we enter the Second Week of Advent, we are invited to embrace the theme of change as part of our journey of faith. Like John the Baptist’s call to repentance, this season urges us to open our hearts to transformation and trust in God’s unfolding plan. Take time this week for prayer and reflection: Where is God calling you to grow, let go, or begin again? Let us prepare the way of the Lord—together—with faith, hope, and openness to renewal.

Join in by praying the All Things New prayer found at www.stcdio.org/planning or by scanning the QR code.

DECEMBER 13 & 14—3rd SUNDAY OF ADVENT

All Things New: Honoring the past, inspiring the future.

Change

As our diocese continues the All Things New planning process, we invite you to reflect on how change shapes your faith journey. How do you respond to change? Where do you need patience or support? How can we walk together in trust and hope?

Change unfolds in God’s timing, inviting us into renewal and grace. Join us in prayer and conversation as we embrace this time of transformation in our parish and diocese.

DECEMBER 20 & 21—4TH SUNDAY OF ADVENT

All Things New: Honoring the past, inspiring the future.

Change

As we journey through Advent, we reflect on Joseph’s courageous acceptance of God’s unexpected plan, reminding us that change leads to new life and hope. During this season, let us open our hearts to God’s grace and trust in his promises. Our diocese continues its All Things New planning process. All Area Catholic Communities are asked to submit their plans prior to the end of the calendar year.

As discernment continues, all are invited to prayer as we journey together toward new beginnings as a diocesan faith family.

DECEMBER 27 & 28—30TH SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME

All Things New: Honoring the past, inspiring the future.

Change

Change is never easy. In the second reading this week (Colossians 3:12–21), St. Paul reminds us we are called to clothe ourselves with compassion, humility, patience, and love.

As the All Things New planning process continues, let us reflect on how we treat one another in this time of transition. Rooted in Christ, may we build up our families, parishes, and communities with understanding and grace, trusting in God’s greater plan.

Visit www.stcdio.org and click on ‘All Things New’ for prayer and reflection resources to guide you on this journey.

NOVEMBER 2025

NOVEMBER 1 & 2 —All Souls

All Things New: Honoring the past, inspiring the future.

Accompaniment

Accompaniment lies at the heart of the Church’s mission—walking with one another in love, patience, and understanding. As Christ journeyed with His disciples, we too are called to be present to others, offering hope and solidarity so that no one walks alone.

This weekend is All Souls Day. The readings remind us that God accompanies us even beyond death.

Reflect on Romans 5:8 — “Christ died for us while we were still sinners.” How does this profound act of love inspire you to accompany others with compassion and without judgment?

Also, let us continue to pray together for the planning process using the All Things New prayer found at www.stcdio.org/planning or by scanning the QR code.

NOVEMBER 8 & 9— Feast of the Dedication of the Lateran Basilica

All Things New: Honoring the past, inspiring the future.

Accompaniment

As we celebrate the Feast of the Dedication of the Lateran Basilica this weekend, we are reminded that “you are the temple of God, and the Spirit of God dwells in you (1 Cor 3:16).”

Each person carries sacred worth, yet many struggle to see it.

As we continue through the diocesan-wide planning process, it is important to accompany one another.

Let’s be Christ’s presence for those who feel unseen or unworthy, affirming their dignity as temples of the Holy Spirit.

This week, reflect upon the following: how can I walk with someone who needs to be reminded of their divine worth?

NOVEMBER 15 & 16—33RD SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME

All Things New: Honoring the past, inspiring the future.

Accompaniment

As a Church, we are called to accompaniment — walking alongside one another with love, patience, and understanding.

This Sunday’s readings remind us that the Christian life is not lived alone: God journeys with us, and we, in turn, journey together.

When we gather in worship, we affirm that no one walks alone — we pray, sing, and share in the sacraments as one body.

When have you most deeply felt God’s presence in communal prayer or liturgy? How does that inspire you to accompany those in need?

NOVEMBER 22 & 23— THE SOLEMNITY OF OUR LORD JESUS CHRIST, KING OF THE UNIVERSE

All Things New: Honoring the past, inspiring the future.

Accompaniment

On this, Solemnity of Our Lord Jesus Christ, King of the Universe, we hear the story of Good Thief in Luke’s Gospel. His act of faith was met with Christ’s promise of presence: “Today you will be with me in Paradise.” Like him, we are invited to reach out with courage, trust in love, and accompany one another with the gift of our presence so that no one in our community walks alone.

Ask God in prayer this week for the strength to be vulnerable when you need accompanying and to identify someone who may need accompaniment.

NOVEMBER 29 & 30— 1st SUNDAY OF ADVENT

All Things New: Honoring the past, inspiring the future.

Accompaniment

As we begin Advent, we reflect upon accompaniment—the art of walking with others in love, patience, and understanding.

This week’s first reading, Isaiah 2:1–5, calls us to come together in truth, justice, and unity.

This season, consider: Are there divisions in your community, family, or heart that God is asking you to help heal? How can you journey with others in hope and solidarity this Advent?

Together, let us build a Church and world where no one walks alone.

OCTOBER 2025

October 4 & 5

All Things New: Honoring the past, inspiring the future.

Hospitality

This month, as the diocesan-wide pastoral planning process, All Things New: Honoring the past, inspiring the future continues, we focus on hospitality.

As members of the Body of Christ, we are called to reflect his welcome, creating spaces of belonging, warmth and mercy. Hospitality is expressed not only in greeting but in genuine encounter, where each person is seen, known and valued. Through inclusive practices, compassionate outreach and a spirit of invitation, it is our role to ensure that all who seek Christ find a spiritual home in our churches.

Contemplate: How do you contribute to creating an inclusive space with genuine encounter in your ACC?

Let us continue to pray together for the planning process.

Join in by praying the All Things New prayer found at www.stcdio.org/planning.

October 11 & 12

All Things New: Honoring the past, inspiring the future.

Hospitality

The process of discernment continues within All Things New planning committees throughout the diocese.

Some ACCs have presented their recommended plans to the Committee for the Affirmation of Plans (CAP) and other ACCs continue to formulate these plans.

Let’s keep in mind the impact church closures will have on our diocesan community. Can you remember a time when you had to start fresh somewhere new?

All of us are called to create a faith community where the stranger becomes friend.

If you see someone new at Mass, how do you welcome them?

October 18 & 19

All Things New: Honoring the past, inspiring the future.

Hospitality

Change can be challenging, but Christ calls us to create a Church where every person feels they belong.

Let’s greet each other warmly and be attentive to those who may feel lost or uncertain during this time of planning and transition.

October 25 & 26

All Things New: Honoring the past, inspiring the future.

Hospitality

This is a time to expand our hearts. Hospitality means looking beyond parish boundaries and seeing the whole diocesan family as brothers and sisters in Christ.

As parishes come together and communities shift, we may see many new faces. Let’s embrace this as a gift and take the first step to provide hospitality. This can mean introducing yourself, making space in your pew, holding a door open or an invitation to coffee.

These simple gestures can build a stronger, more welcoming Church family.

SEPTEMBER 2025

September 6 & 7

All Things New: Honoring the past, inspiring the future.

Exploring Grief & Loss

This month, as the diocesan-wide pastoral planning process, All Things New: Honoring the past, inspiring the future continues, we focus the grief and sense of loss that can be experienced through change.

This week’s responsorial psalm states, “In every age, O Lord, you have been our refuge.”

Area Catholic Communities within our diocese will begin to submit plans for review to the Committee for the Affirmation of Plans this month. All presented plans will require transition and change.

Although we can always find refuge in God, as companions on this planning journey, we are called to recognize feelings of grief and loss that may percolate during transition.

Contemplate: How can you support someone experiencing these feelings? How can you ask for support when you are grieving?

Let us continue to pray together for the planning process.

Join in by praying the All Things New prayer found at www.stcdio.org/planning.

September 13 & 14

All Things New: Honoring the past, inspiring the future.

Exploring Grief & Loss

After months of research and discernment, our ACC Planning Committee is working to develop a plan for submission to the diocesan committee.

In a specific way, we keep in mind how members of our ACC will be impacted through this transition. Many are or will experience real grief—grief over possible closures, changes in leadership, or the loss of spiritual homes. Grieving is a holy response to what we love.

We encourage all parishioners to take time to pray, talk openly, and bring their sorrows to Christ, who bore His Cross for us. We are not alone. We walk together, and God walks with us.

September 20 & 21

All Things New: Honoring the past, inspiring the future.

Exploring Grief & Loss

As the All Things New process continues across our diocese, many of us are experiencing emotional and spiritual strain. Let us not walk alone. Reach out to one another. Listen with compassion. Pray for one another. Consider forming or joining a small prayer group, especially in this time of transition.

September 27 & 28

All Things New: Honoring the past, inspiring the future.

Exploring Grief & Loss

This Sunday’s Gospel reminds us that saying “yes” to God means more than words—it means obedience, even when it’s difficult. As the All Things New planning process continues, many are being asked to accept changes they never imagined.

If you’re struggling, you’re not alone. We are invited to walk this road together, trusting that God sees beyond our immediate pain.

This week, pray for those who experience pain and struggle that we cannot see or cannot understand.

AUGUST 2025
August 2 & 3

All Things New: Honoring the past, inspiring the future.

Prudent Stewardship

In this week’s Gospel, we are called to examine the importance of our possessions.Jesus challenges us all by saying, “Thus it will be for all who store up treasure for themselves but are not rich in what matters to God.”

This month, as the diocesan-wide pastoral planning process, All Things New: Honoring the past, inspiring the future, continues we focus on prudent stewardship. Not only are we called to reflect on the gifts God has provided us — both in possessions and in abilities, but we are called to reflect on how our ACC is utilizing all the resources it’s been gifted.

As we move forward in the planning process, let’s contemplate how we can honor the gifts that have been generously given and those yet to be given.

Let us continue to pray for the planning process. Join us by praying the All Things New prayer found at www.stcdio.org/planning or by scanning the QR code.

August 9 & 10

All Things New: Honoring the past, inspiring the future.

Prudent Stewardship

Our ACC Planning Committee continues their focus on prayer and gathering information about the parishes in our ACC to help us discern the future vision for our faith communities.

In a specific way, we keep the guiding principle of prudent stewardship top of mind. It is the goal of the committee to use the human, structural and financial resources of our ACC to achieve our shared mission in a healthy and responsible way.

As we continue our work of discernment, we ask all members of our ACC to reflect on what it means to be prudent stewards.

August 16 & 17

All Things New: Honoring the past, inspiring the future.

Prudent Stewardship

In today’s Gospel, Jesus said, “I have come to set the earth of fire, and how I wish it were already blazing!”

Jesus recognizes the challenge he gives his disciples with this message and recognizes there will be division.

Today, we are given the challenge of revisioning how our ACC’s look to make them vibrant communities set on fire to share Jesus’ love with others.

What is one way you can continue Christ’s ministry this week by giving someone the gift of your time?

August 23 & 24

All Things New: Honoring the past, inspiring the future.

Prudent Stewardship

Jesus calls us to strive to enter through the narrow door. Therefore, our acts of discipleship require commitment to both the familiar and the new.

How, through our All Things New planning process can we acknowledge the familiar history of our ACC’s and through our daily choices, humility and service, create communities that will thrive for years to come?

August 30 & 31

All Things New: Honoring the past, inspiring the future.

Prudent Stewardship

In today’s Gospel, Christ calls us to humility and generosity, to seek service over status.

How can you contribute generously to our ACC community? Does this include a gift of your time? Your skills? Your financial resources?

Each person’s gifts are required for all to come together in revisioning our ACC and build up God’s kingdom through our discipleship.

All Things New: Honoring the past, inspiring the future.
Supporting our priests.

This month, as the diocesan-wide pastoral planning process, All Things New: Honoring the past, inspiring the future, continues we focus on ways we can support our diocesan clergy.

As we move forward in the planning process, let’s contemplate how can we honor their commitment of service to our diocese and support their work in our ACC.

We also continue to pray for the planning process. Join us by praying the All Things New prayer found at www.stcdio.org/planning or by scanning the QR code.

June 12 & 13

All Things New: Honoring the past, inspiring the future.
Supporting our priests.

Our ACC Planning Committee continues their focus on prayer and gathering information about the parishes in our ACC to help us discern the future vision for our faith communities.

In a specific way, we are exploring the work of our pastor (priests). It is the goal of the committee to steer our pastor’s work toward the spiritual needs of our parishes and delegate the administrative needs.

As we continue our work of discernment, we ask all members of our ACC to also discern ways we can support the work of our pastor (priests). What gifts do you have that can support our pastor (priests) or the needs of our ACC?

June 19 & 20

All Things New: Honoring the past, inspiring the future.
Supporting our priests.

Our priests need more than our gratitude—they need our support. Whether through volunteering, offering encouragement, or participating in parish initiatives, each of us has a role in sustaining their ministry. Rooted in apostolic tradition and called to serve the church with humility, fidelity and sacrificial devotion, our priests bring Christ to us. Let us, in turn, bring Christ to them through our commitment and care.

What is one way you can be Christ to the priest(s) of your ACC this week?

June 26 & 27

All Things New: Honoring the past, inspiring the future.
Supporting our priests.

The priesthood is a sacred gift rooted in Christ’s own mission. Our priests lead, serve, and sacrifice daily to bring us the grace of the sacraments and the guidance of Christ.

This week, be encouraged to respond to their work with your own faithful prayer—ask the Lord to strengthen their hearts, sustain their vocations, and bless them abundantly.

Could you offer a rosary, holy hour or other prayer for the intention of priest you know?

JUNE 2025
May 31 & June 1

All Things New: Honoring the past, inspiring the future.

The diocesan-wide pastoral planning process, All Things New: Honoring the past, inspiring the future, continues.

This month, we focus on the role our ancestors played to pave the way for our faith communities. As we move forward in the planning process, how can we honor their commitment and make our own commitment for the future of the Church.

Pray for the planning process this month by using the All Things New prayer found at www.stcdio.org/planning or by scanning the QR code.

June 6 & 7

All Things New: Honoring the past, inspiring the future.

Our ACC planning committee wants to engage our parish communities to learn stories of our past and hear the hopes you have to create vibrant communities of faith for the future.

The members of our ACC Planning Committee include: (List Names of Members Here)

This week, take time to reflect upon the positive ways your faith has grown through past opportunities in our parishes. How can these opportunities be recreated or built upon in the future?

June 13 & 14

All Things New: Honoring the past, inspiring the future.

This week, we celebrate the Solemnity of the Holy Trinity. The Father, Son and Holy Spirit, a perfect model of communion, highlights the importance of unity through the challenges the planning process brings.

We all have important information to share and a shared responsibility.

This week, each time you say the sign of the cross, be reminded of the Holy Trinity and determine where you can promote reconciliation and understanding where there may be division or apathy.

June 20 & 21

All Things New: Honoring the past, inspiring the future.

The Solemnity of the Most Holy Body and Blood of Christ reminds us that by receiving Christ in the Eucharist, we are called to become Christ for others.

All Things New asks each of us to examine how we can build a more participatory and welcoming faith community.

We all share in the responsibility for what our faith community becomes through the planning process—clergy, staff, lay leaders and parishioners.

This week, make a commitment to pray for our planning committee and to keep an attitude of hope throughout the process.

June 27 & 28

All Things New: Honoring the past, inspiring the future.

At Pentecost, the Apostles were fearfully hiding in the upper room. Then, the Holy Spirit empowered a group of ordinary people, like you and me, and they began proclaiming the gospel.

The All Things New planning process can feel overwhelming and leave us fearfully hiding from the challenges our parishes face. As the process continues, we are not expected to have all the answers, we just need a willingness to say ‘yes’ to God’s plans for us.

What are the things you are feeling fearful about as you learn more about the planning process? Pray this week to ask God how you are being called to help and for the courage to say ‘yes.’

MAY 2025
May 3 & 4

All Things New: Honoring the past, inspiring the future.

Engaging the Laity

All Things New: Honoring the past, inspiring the future.

God has given each person a unique set of gifts and charisms to live out their individual vocation. Through revitalized prayer and formation opportunities, encounters with family, friends, co-workers and neighbors, we can welcome new faces into the fold. We are guided by our strengths to stimulate renewal in the Church.

This week, take time to reflect upon the strengths God has given you. How can you share these in your parish community?

May 17 & 18

Engaging the Laity

All Things New: Honoring the past, inspiring the future.

Our ACC planning committee has met with diocesan facilitators to learn more about the guiding the principles and design parameters for the diocesan planning process.

As a committee, we continue to engage in conversation and begin to discern where the Holy Spirit is calling us. We encourage all members of our ACC to pray for the guidance of the Holy Spirit through this process.

This week, while praying, ask the Holy Spirit to guide the diocesan planning process.

May 24 & 25

Engaging the Laity

All Things New: Honoring the past, inspiring the future.

Through our baptism, we are called to serve the Church. This service is a sacrificial gift that creates life and vibrancy in faith communities. It can be difficult to step forward in service without invitation.

This week, be bold! Inquire with the parish office — ask “how can I help make our ACC more vibrant?”

Listening as a Way of Being Church

All Things New: Honoring the past, inspiring the future.

On Palm Sunday, Jesus entered Jerusalem knowing his passion was upon him. Help us, inspired by his selfless love and humility, to listen to those around us.

Listening as a way of being church allows us to build stronger, more compassionate relationships.

This week, take the opportunity to listen to a fellow parishioner.

MARCH 2025

Mar. 1/2

All Things New: Honoring the past, inspiring the future.

Work continues for the diocesan-wide pastoral planning process: All Things New: Honoring the past, inspiring the future.

In March, we focus on Sacramental Life. Please continue to pray the All Things New prayer, found at www.stcdio.org/planning or by scanning the QR code.

Mar. 8/9

A Call to the Sacramental Life

All Things New: Honoring the past, inspiring the future.

The sacraments are outward signs of grace that God gives to people to help them live a life close to Jesus.

Beginning this month, ACC’s will meet with diocesan planning committees to begin, guided by an invitation to encourage full, conscious and active participation of the faithful in sacramental life of the church, to reflect on the future for our communities.

How can your participation in the sacraments this week be nurturing for you and those you encounter?

Mar. 15/16

A Call to the Sacramental Life

All Things New: Honoring the past, inspiring the future.

One of the guiding principles of the diocesan planning process is sacramental life. We move forward as pilgrims of hope to create vibrant communities where all feel compelled to fully participate, consciously and actively, in the sacramental life of the Church.

One of these sacraments, the sacrament of penance, allows us to experience the gift of God’s mercy.

Mar. 22/23

A Call to the Sacramental Life

All Things New: Honoring the past, inspiring the future.

During the season of Lent, Catholics are called to a deeper sacramental life through prayer, fasting and almsgiving.

Catholics are asked to abstain from all food and drink, except for medicine and water, at least one hour before Holy Communion (Code of Canon Law 919).

This week, how can you utilize this period of abstinence to deepen your connection to Jesus through the Sacrament of the Eucharist?

Mar. 29/30

A Call to the Sacramental Life

All Things New: Honoring the past, inspiring the future.

The Lenten season calls all Catholics to renew the commitments made through the Sacrament of Baptism, while other members of our parish community prepare for their baptism on Holy Saturday.

This week, reflect upon the commitment made at the time of your baptism and the profession of faith you make each week at Mass.

Feb. 8/9

A Call to Missionary Discipleship

All Things New: Honoring the past, inspiring the future.

In ‘The Joy of the Gospel’ Pope Francis reminds us:

“In virtue of their baptism, all members of the People of God have become missionary disciples.”

The All Things New diocesan planning process challenges us to reflect upon ways we embody our role as disciples (someone who follows Jesus) and as missionaries (someone who shares Jesus with others).

How can you share Jesus with others this week?

Feb. 15/16

A Call to Missionary Discipleship

All Things New: Honoring the past, inspiring the future.

To move in the world as missionary disciples, we must first build our relationship with God. Participation in the sacraments and regular prayer habits help build us up spiritually and intellectually. What are some ways you can enhance your prayer life? Is there an ACC program to assist with regular prayer?

Feb. 22/23

A Call to Missionary Discipleship

All Things New: Honoring the past, inspiring the future.

Have you ever thought about the impact of intercessory prayer? Intercessory prayer is the act of praying to God for others. When you ask someone how you can pray for them, it provides a way to show your love for them and for God and creates an opportunity for you to carry someone with you in prayer.

Will you accept the challenge of asking someone how you can pray for them this week?
