April 5 & 6

All Things New: Honoring the past, inspiring the future.

The diocesan-wide pastoral planning process, All Things New: Honoring the past, inspiring the future, continues.

This month, we focus on listening as a way of being Church. Pray for the planning process this month by praying the All Things New prayer found at www.stcdio.org/planning or by scanning the QR code.

April 12 & 13 – Palm Sunday

Listening as a Way of Being Church

All Things New: Honoring the past, inspiring the future.

On Palm Sunday, Jesus entered Jerusalem knowing his passion was upon him. Help us, inspired by his selfless love and humility, to listen to those around us.

Listening as a way of being church allows us to build stronger, more compassionate relationships.

This week, take the opportunity to listen to a fellow parishioner.

April 20 & 21—Easter Sunday

Listening as a Way of Being Church

All Things New: Honoring the past, inspiring the future.

Through the passion and resurrection, we are shown God’s infinite love for us.

Listening as a way of church is a way to reflect God’s love.

This week, take time to practice the art of listening – to God and to one another.

April 26 & 27—Divine Mercy Sunday

Listening as a Way of Being Church

All Things New: Honoring the past, inspiring the future.

Work continues for the diocesan-wide pastoral planning process: All Things New: Honoring the past, inspiring the future.

In March, we focus on Sacramental Life. Please continue to pray the All Things New prayer, found at www.stcdio.org/planning or by scanning the QR code.

Mar. 8/9

A Call to the Sacramental Life

All Things New: Honoring the past, inspiring the future.

The sacraments are outward signs of grace that God gives to people to help them live a life close to Jesus.

Beginning this month, ACC’s will meet with diocesan planning committees to begin, guided by an invitation to encourage full, conscious and active participation of the faithful in sacramental life of the church, to reflect on the future for our communities.

How can your participation in the sacraments this week be nurturing for you and those you encounter?

Mar. 15/16

A Call to the Sacramental Life

All Things New: Honoring the past, inspiring the future.

One of the guiding principles of the diocesan planning process is sacramental life. We move forward as pilgrims of hope to create vibrant communities where all feel compelled to fully participate, consciously and actively, in the sacramental life of the Church.

One of these sacraments, the sacrament of penance, allows us to experience the gift of God’s mercy.

Mar. 22/23

A Call to the Sacramental Life

All Things New: Honoring the past, inspiring the future.

During the season of Lent, Catholics are called to a deeper sacramental life through prayer, fasting and almsgiving.

Catholics are asked to abstain from all food and drink, except for medicine and water, at least one hour before Holy Communion (Code of Canon Law 919).

This week, how can you utilize this period of abstinence to deepen your connection to Jesus through the Sacrament of the Eucharist?

Mar. 29/30

A Call to the Sacramental Life

All Things New: Honoring the past, inspiring the future.

The Lenten season calls all Catholics to renew the commitments made through the Sacrament of Baptism, while other members of our parish community prepare for their baptism on Holy Saturday.

This week, reflect upon the commitment made at the time of your baptism and the profession of faith you make each week at Mass.

A Call to Missionary Discipleship

All Things New: Honoring the past, inspiring the future.

In ‘The Joy of the Gospel’ Pope Francis reminds us:

“In virtue of their baptism, all members of the People of God have become missionary disciples.”

The All Things New diocesan planning process challenges us to reflect upon ways we embody our role as disciples (someone who follows Jesus) and as missionaries (someone who shares Jesus with others).

How can you share Jesus with others this week?

Feb. 15/16

A Call to Missionary Discipleship

All Things New: Honoring the past, inspiring the future.

To move in the world as missionary disciples, we must first build our relationship with God. Participation in the sacraments and regular prayer habits help build us up spiritually and intellectually. What are some ways you can enhance your prayer life? Is there an ACC program to assist with regular prayer?

Feb. 22/23

A Call to Missionary Discipleship

All Things New: Honoring the past, inspiring the future.

Have you ever thought about the impact of intercessory prayer?  Intercessory prayer is the act of praying to God for others.  When you ask someone how you can pray for them, it provides a way to show your love for them and for God and creates an opportunity for you to carry someone with you in prayer.

Will you accept the challenge of asking someone how you can pray for them this week?
