Order Of The Anointing Of The Sick And Their Pastoral Care
The Order of the Anointing of the Sick and their Pastoral Care has been officially revised to replace Pastoral Care of the Sick: Rites of Anointing and Viaticum. This new ritual book has been reoriented from the previous edition and is specifically intended for priests and deacons.
Per the USCCB:
- the book is available January 1, 2026 (can be shipped on that date)
- First use is February 11, 2026 (Feast of Our Lady of Lourdes; World Day of Prayer for the Sick)
- Mandatory Use is April 5, 2026 (Easter)
