Ministry
United States Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB) Hispanic/Latino Affairs
The Subcommittee on Hispanic Affairs is under the direction of and assists the Committee on Cultural Diversity within the Church by working collaboratively with the committee and other USCCB committees to affirm the gifts and contributions of Hispanic Catholics and to provide more opportunities for Hispanic Catholics to engage in the life of the Church and help shape its evangelization mission.
National Pastoral Plan for Hispanic Latino Ministry
In June of 2023 the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB) put forth a new national pastoral plan for Hispanic/Latino ministry, in direct response to the priorities, recommendations, and pastoral insights generated during the V National Encuentro for Hispanic/Latino Ministry, the 2018 Synod on Young People, Synod 2021-2023: For a Synodal Church, the National Dialogue initiative with youth and young adult ministries (2017-2020), the Journeying Together national intercultural encounter, and Raíces y Alas 2022.
The plan “addresses the entire Church in the United States and seeks to strengthen the Church’s response to the Hispanic/Latino presence, while embracing and fostering the contributions of Hispanic/Latino Catholics as missionary disciples serving the entire People of God.”
USCCB Intercultural Competencies Modules
Offers five text-based modules for ministers and individuals wishing to broaden their intercultural competence. Modules include: Diversity from a Theological Perspective, Understanding Culture, Intercultural Communication Skills in Pastoral Settings, Obstacles to Effective Intercultural Relations, Integration Rather Than Assimilation.
National Catholic Association of Diocesan Directors for Hispanic Ministry (NCADDHM)
NCADDHM is a national organization recognized by the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops in Washington with representation throughout the United States. For 30 years, NCADDHM has been providing support to current and future diocesan leadership serving the Hispanic community in the Roman Catholic Church by providing networking opportunities, mentoring and best practices in the field of Hispanic ministry.

Bereavement
USCCB Resources on Bereavement and Funerals
The Church provides a number of prayers for the faithful to offer both to accompany the dying of a loved one and to strengthen our faith upon their death. Through private prayer and public funeral rites, we strengthen our faith and hope, comfort those who mourn, and bury the bodily remains of the deceased with care befitting what was the Temple of the Holy Spirit.
