BISHOP KETTLER TO OFFER MASS FOR PEACE ON DEC. 4

Bishop Donald Kettler will offer a special Mass for Peace at 7 p.m., Dec. 4, at St. Mary’s Cathedral, 25 Eighth Ave., South, in St. Cloud.

The bishop invites the Catholic faithful of the Diocese of St. Cloud and all people of good will to join him in praying for peace in Ferguson, Mo., and throughout the United States. On Nov. 25, the day after a grand jury decided to not indict police officer Darren Wilson, Bishop Kettler released the following statement:

“I was saddened to see the television images of violent actions perpetrated by some people in the wake of the grand jury’s decision. Violence is never the answer. I ask the faithful of the Diocese of St. Cloud, and all people of good will, to join me in praying for peace in Ferguson and the surrounding community. We also pray for the local Church there and its leaders, including Archbishop Robert Carlson, that they may be instruments of peace, unity and reconciliation in the days and weeks ahead.”
