The Catholic Church recognizes our cultural diversity as an important, constitutive part of our society and recognizes the unique gifts each community brings to the local Church.
The rural Diocese of Saint Cloud is located in Central Minnesota and boasts a diverse Catholic population distributed among 16 counties. The diocese aims to create a more vibrant, multicultural, faith-filled diocese by working on four key priorities:
- Leadership
- Catholic Social Teaching
- Reconciliation
- Stewardship
Our Goals
The goals of the Office of Multicultural Ministries are to support the diocesan offices by:
- modeling and promoting a collaborative ministry based on communion in mission.
- welcoming the strangers among us by providing pastoral care in the cultural context in which the Good News is proclaimed.
- inviting everyone to discover each person’s story with God as told in symbols, arts, rituals, cultures, traditions, faith beliefs and expressions of faith.
Our Vision
We work to welcome, serve, recognize, and appreciate the many faces that come to the altar of the Lord. As we embrace the different ethnic communities, we can build a strong, vibrant, and diverse diocese. We are committed to the new evangelization rooted on the foundation laid down by Pope Paul VI in his Apostolic Exhortation, on Evangelization in the Modern World.
