The National Eucharistic Pilgrimage will accompany Jesus from door-to-door,
lighting hearts on fire along the way.
What is the Eucharistic Revival Pilgrimage?
The Eucharistic Revival Pilgrimage will be a 3 month long pilgrimage that leads to Indianapolis. There will be 4 different pilgrimages coming from different ends of the country (Minnesota – Marian Route, California – St. Junipero Serra Route, Texas – St. Juan Diego Route and Connecticut – St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Route) and meeting in Indianapolis for the National Eucharistic Congress. This will be a unique opportunity to pray, seek your own deeper walk with Jesus, and to be a witness to everyone we encounter on our pilgrimage.
First Holy Communion Student Opportunity
There is one specific opportunity we would like to highlight for our First Communion students. On Thursday, May 23, St. Mary’s Cathedral will be hosting a eucharistic procession around the downtown area followed by a family adoration hour (5-6 p.m.) and meal (6-7 p.m.). We would like our First Holy Communion students to have a special place in this Eucharistic procession. Students are highly encouraged to wear their First Communion outfits for the big day! If you have students that are interested, a group will be meeting at 4:15 p.m. on May 23 on the steps of the Cathedral (Hannah Shefveland will be there to direct), and the procession will start at 4:30pm.

Who is it for?
YOU! We would love for everyone (young and young at heart) in the diocese to have an opportunity to pilgrimage with Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament, whether that is for 1 block, or 10 miles.
What are the dates and where does it begin?
The pilgrimage will officially start Pentecost Sunday (May 19, 2024) at Lake Itasca. The day prior, May 18, 2024, there will be an opening ceremony at the Sanford Center in Bemidji. They are inviting all of the neighboring states to join and will have many loved clergy including Fr. Mike Schmitz and Bishop Barron in attendance.
The pilgrimage will pass through the St. Cloud Diocese May 22, 2024 starting in Mora and will need to be in Clearwater on May 24, 2024.
HELP NEEDED! How can I get involved with the eucharistic procession?
May 22-24, the National Eucharistic Revival Pilgrimage will be coming through the St. Cloud Diocese on its way to Indianapolis for the National Eucharistic Congress. There will be a number of events daily ranging from eucharistic processions, to speakers, praise & worship, confession, Mass, and the list goes on! We are reaching out today to invite not only you to come and join us and any or all of these events, but to also offer it to your students or youth group. What is the route?
STARTING LOCATION:
MISSISSIPPI HEADWATERS, LAKE ITASCA, MN
Departing from the headwaters of the Mississippi, the northern arm of the Pilgrimage will descend through the midwestern United States, pass through Wisconsin and Illinois, and meet up with the other three pilgrimage routes at the Congress in Indianapolis.
Want to get involved?
- Let me know if you would like to help with the planning and organizing.
- We need host families for the pilgrims (for one or both nights).
- We need people willing to donate or help supply, serve food, beverages, etc.
- We need people to help with hospitality, especially if we host a large dinner. Also might need a driver or two to help transport pilgrims to and from a meeting spot.
- We need people willing to be pilgrims and walk!
